FAQs

What are the pick-up procedures?

There is a 10-minute window that allows for pick-up and drop-off of students during the following time:

Between Session A and B at 10:20-10:30

Students who are enrolled in both Sessions A and B should pick up their students at 12:20.

A primary guardian or the same person who drops off the student should pick them up. If not, please let us know so we are aware of any changes.

If a student is walking home, please either notify their final teacher or Mr. Werner. Please reference the Staff Directory for contact information.

How do I pay for tuition?

Please click on the "Tuition" tab at the top of our page.

How were students selected for enrollment?

Parents registered for the courses they wanted their children to attend. Based on the time-stamp, we filled courses. Our courses do have capacity limitations. Therefore, once a course reached capacity, students who registered afterward were enrolled in a "non-primary/back-up" course. If we are unable to fill your student's schedule based on the courses selected during registration, we will only fill Session A or Session B.

How do I view my child's schedule?

All schedules will be posted prior to the start of the RE Summer Academy.

To access your child’s schedule:

  1. Log onto the Genesis Parent Portal

  2. Click on “List View” which located in the middle of your screen

  3. The Summer W.I.N. Academy is listed as “Q4”

  4. From there, you will be able to view your child’s classes and teacher by Period

What is the capacity for Extracurricular classes in the W.I.N Summer Academy?

The capacity is dependent upon the classroom size. Some classes are outside, which allow for more students to be enrolled in a class. Most W.I.N Summer tuition classes have a capacity of 20. Non-tuition classes like Intervention or Enrichment have a capacity of 12 students.

How were students recommended for the Academic classes?

There is an Academic Student Recommendation Criteria that our district chose to determine which students would be invited. Please note students also require a teacher recommendation.

Where will the Summer W.I.N. Academy be held?

All sessions will be at Cherry Hill School.

When and how will I know if my student was selected for the Intervention or Integrated Enrichment classes?

Students who were recommended will receive an invitation on the Genesis Parent Portal by the end of April.

What if my student was not recommended for the Intervention or Integrated Enrichment classes?

You can still enroll your child in any of our Extracurricular courses apart of the Summer Academy. Registration for these courses will begin in early May. All students can register for these courses.

What is the difference between non-tuition classes (i.e. Intervention and Integrated Enrichment) and the tuition classes?

Intervention classes support students who might need additional practice over the Summer to help them prepare for the next grade level. Enrichment classes support students who are exceeding expectations in their current grade level and might need a challenge over the Summer. There is a criteria for how students are recommended and invited to these classes.

Tuition classes are interdisciplinary and open to all students. This means they include many different subjects and focus on a variety of topics and skills. These courses are a great way for your child to explore how certain academic skills and topics can be applied through hands-on and investigative activities.

When will I know the time and teacher for my student if they qualified for an Intervention or Enrichment class?

Schedules and teacher assignments will be sent home to parents once the Extracurricular registration has closed. This is because we want to give parents the opportunity to register their children for other Extracurricular classes.

If you choose to not register your child for extracurricular classes, they will only be scheduled for their academic classes.

We anticipate the schedules being sent home and finalized by early June.

What if my child is traveling over the course of the Summer W.I.N. Academy?

The RE Summer Academy is only offered in-person and there is no virtual option unless a student is quarantining due to a positive test. A student quarantining due to travel-related issues will not be given a virtual option.

What if my child needs to quarantine for travel or health-related concerns?

Students who need to quarantine will be able to become virtual students for the time they are quarantining due to a positive test.

Students who need to quarantine due to health-related concerns will need to contact the Academic Supervisor (Mr. Nevin Werner).

More questions and answers will be posted as they are received, so please check back often!
