Blooket - Create, import from Quizlet, or use a premade question set for students to study for upcoming assessments. When a game is started, there are multiple game modes to choose from. Some game modes allow question sets to be assigned to students so they can complete them on their own time. Free to use, does offer paid versions.
Peardeck - Peardeck can be used to create interactive presentations right through Google Slides. This is a really useful tool for polling students, introducing new topics, and asking for student responses. From the student perspective, answers are anonymous, meaning students get to know what each of their peers is thinking instead of hearing from the same few students, but don't have to worry about being "wrong". Students really enjoy getting to be more active in classroom presentations.
Edpuzzle - EdPuzzle is an easy to use video platform that lets you add multiple choice and short answer questions for students to answer as they’re watching. It also prevents students from skipping the video. You are able to see how long students watched the video for and review the answers to their questions. You can upload your own videos that you’ve created or use a YouTube video.
Mote - This Chrome extension lets you add voice notes to Google Slides and Docs. This is a great way to add audio instructions or audio to presentations for remote or absent students.
Wordle - Even if you aren’t playing it, you’ve probably heard of the Wordle craze that’s taken over. There are some fun, easy, even customizable ways to incorporate Wordle into your classroom that I share with you in the video below. You can access my Wakelet with links to each resource here.
Jamboard - Google Jams are a great collaboration tool to use with students. While it looks similar to Google Slides, it has fewer tools and is easier to see. Students are able to focus more on content and collaboration rather than design when they’re using a Google Jam. Access my Wakelet with different templates here.
Gimkit - Gimkit is a really fun website you can use to review content with your students. The classic version lets students purchase power ups to earn more money in order to win. However, there are other versions available including ones that have students work together to defeat a common enemy. Watch the video below to see it in action.
Picker Wheel - I know there’s a thousand Picker Wheels/Random Name Generators out there, but I really like that this one has the option to create random groups for you and will save the class list, so you can use it again. Watch the video below to see how it works.
