At Rise Academy, we nurture the complete child—mind, faith, and character. To support this mission, our PTO offers meaningful volunteer opportunities that fit a variety of schedules and interests. Your time helps us grow together as a community.
Time: 2–3 hrs/month (Remote, Flexible)
Description: Act as liaison between teacher and parents, organize class parties, share reminders, and manage the class WhatsApp group. Classes still needed: PreK 1, Toddler, 11th & 12th
Time: 3-4 hrs/month
Description: Join the team that orders school gear, manages PTO merchandise sales, and organizes fundraisers (bake sales, popcorn sales, sporting events, and uniform resell).
Time: 3–4 events/year
Description: Help coordinate informal gatherings such as Coffee with Admin, Breakfast with Teachers, Family Picnic, and the End-of-Year celebration.
Time: 4-5 hrs (planning) & 2–3 hrs (event day) (Heavier in Spring)
Description: Partner with Academics Director to plan and organize the Innovation Fair. Coordinate activities, support student projects, and assist with set up on event day. Background in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) preferred.
Time: 2–3 hrs/month (Flexible, Heavier in May)
Description: Join the effort to celebrate and uplift our amazing staff throughout the year! Plan creative appreciation activities, organize hands-on projects with students (like cards, crafts, or treats), and coordinate special events during Teacher Appreciation Week. Connect with local businesses for donations or sponsorships to make each event extra special and memorable.
Time: Half-day slots during AP exams (early May)
Description: Monitor and support exam administration. Training provided. Requires basic computer and English language skills.
Time: 1-2 hrs/week (flexible)
Description: Assist science teachers with lab prep, organization, or classroom experiments.
Time: 1–2 hrs/week
Description: Assist teachers by grading homework folders once a week.
Time: 2–3 hrs/week (Flexible)
Description: Help teachers with copying, laminating, or prepping classroom materials. Training provided.
Time: 1–2 hrs/week (flexible)
Description: Support teachers by working with small groups of students who need extra math practice.
Time: 1–2 hrs/week (flexible)
Description: Support small student groups with reading, writing, spelling, and grammar assignments outside the classroom.
Time: 1 hr/week (Flexible)
Description: Work one-on-one with young readers to build fluency and confidence.
Time: 30–45 min/shift (AM drop-off, mid-day, or PM pick-up)
Description: Provide supervision during student transitions to ensure safety. (Special safety training will be provided by the school)
Time: 1–2 hrs per trip (Flexible, Remote)
Description: Help teachers schedule venues, request quotes, and coordinate logistics.
Time: 2 hrs/week (Flexible)
Description: Assist in woodshop class and help with facility projects, such as building benches around campus trees.
Time: 1 hr/week (Flexible)
Description: Refresh classroom or hallway bulletin boards with seasonal and educational displays.

Description: Bring the school garden to life! Lead students and parent volunteers in planting, watering, and caring for the garden. Help create a hands-on learning space where students can connect with nature, nurture responsibility, and enjoy the beauty of growing things.
Time: 2–3 hrs/week
Description: Support the PE teacher by assisting with class activities, supervising students during games, setting up equipment, and encouraging teamwork and sportsmanship. Great for parents who enjoy fitness, sports, and working with kids in an active environment.
Time: Sept 19 & 26 (2–3 hrs each evening)
Description: Manage the PTO table, sell merchandise/uniforms, recruit parents, and share PTO information.
Time: 5-6 events/year
Description: Lead and coordinate volunteers to decorate the school for special occasions such as Milad-un-Nabi, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, 15th of Sha’ban, Baligha Celebration, and Graduation.
Time: 2–3 hrs/month (Oct - Feb)
Description: Use your creativity, networking, and communication skills to secure exciting auction and raffle items for our annual fundraiser. Perfect for parents who enjoy connecting with local businesses, designing fun packages, and bringing fresh ideas to the table.
Time: 1–2 hrs (during program dates)
Description: Inspire students by sharing your professional journey, skills, and experiences. Opportunities may also include hosting a student for a job-shadow day, offering internships, or arranging a workplace tour in partnership with school staff.

Description: Read a favorite story to a class or during a literacy event.
Time: 2-3 hr/week (Flexible)
Description: Assist teachers with planing and organizing cooking activities and projects in class.

Description: Capture school memories by assisting students with designing and assembling yearbook pages digitally.

Description: Research and apply for grants; secure community sponsorships and donations for PTO projects.
