About me
My family and I moved to the Bay Area from Colorado last summer. I have my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Design. I have always had a passion for education, and I completed many of my core college classes in the field of education. I have four years of experience in an Early Learning Center, and around 10 years of volunteer experience at Jaffari Islamic School in Denver, at different levels (teacher, admin and principal). This will be my second year at Rise Academy. I have two children of my own, nine and four years old. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and being in nature.
Teaching Philosophy
I believe in building a classroom culture where students are not afraid to take risks and mistakes are a part of learning. I want my students to build strong connections and to be able to identify and communicate their feelings effectively and to solve problems collaboratively. I believe a class should feel like family, where all the needs of the students are met and each student can feel comfortable to state his/her needs comfortably. I believe in holistic teaching, addressing the spiritual, social, emotional and intellectual nature in all the students.
