Hispanic culture is woven into every aspect of the curriculum at Academia Raises. Students participate in a wide range of cultural activities, including traditional dances such as Folklorico dance with multiple Mexican states being represented such as the state of Jalisco and their beautiful songs kids can dance such as “El Jarabe Tapatio”, the state of Michoacan with their “El Baile de los Viejitos”, the state of Veracruz and their beautiful dance of “El Gustito” and the state of San Luis Potosi and their representation of the Huasteca Region with songs well known throughout Mexico such as “El Querreque”.  Students are also engaged in music performances featuring mariachi & the newest pilot program which is a “Conjunto Norteno” or Norteno & Tex-Mex band where kids learn songs their grandparents learned when they were small such as “El Piojo y La Pulga, Cielito Lindo, un Rinconcito en el Cielo” from those great singers such as Pedro Infante and the world wide Norteno band “Ramon Ayala y Sus Bravos Del Norte. Students also learn visual arts and Mexican Literature from world renowned authors and artists such as Ocatvio Paz, Carlos Fuentes, Juan Rulfo and Frida Khalo. Through hands-on experiences and interactive learning opportunities, students gain a deep understanding and appreciation for Hispanic heritage and traditions.

Arts Integration:

The arts play a central role in the educational experience at Academia Raises. While Hispanic/Mexican art is beautiful, unique and distinct, it is primarily used to represent Mexico's rich culture.
