Students are also engaged in music performances featuring mariachi & the newest pilot program which is a “Conjunto Norteno” or Norteno & Tex-Mex band where kids learn songs their grandparents learned when they were small such as “El Piojo y La Pulga, Cielito Lindo, un Rinconcito en el Cielo” from those great singers such as Pedro Infante and the world wide Norteno band “Ramon Ayala y Sus Bravos Del Norte. Students also learn visual arts and Mexican Literature from world renowned authors and artists such as Ocatvio Paz, Carlos Fuentes, Juan Rulfo and Frida Khalo.
