Analyze

CAASPP Summative Data

What can I learn from summative data?

This video tutorial walks you through three ways to analyze your CAASPP summative data for last year's class or for your current students. The three ways are:

  • Percentages of students who met or exceeded expectations
  • Movement of students from previous year's assessment
  • Distance from Met showing movement at the scale score level

Note from the CDE: Achievement levels should serve only as a starting point for discussion about the performance of students and of groups of students. There are other measures that students, teachers, and parents can use to help evaluate the academic progress of students and schools, such as scaled scores, growth models, and portfolios of student work.
