8pm - 11.30pm Darja Isaksson - Part 1

Digitalization is a dimension which we people create ourselves and is to be found beyond space & time. This effects on our way to communicate and collaborate.

Communication revolution, ongoing, developing, experimenting and creating possibilities.

"How many of us were adapted by tv-serie broadcast times while planning other activities earlier?" - Today we do not do that since we stream content when we want to and where ever we want to.

The amount of information which we consume has been increasing rapdly the past decades and increased very rapidly the past years.

Information is doubled every 12 hour today.

Can we meet a doctor online - what functions can this add in to our lives? Such as the possibilty to contact the doctor 24/7?

We are on the verge of growth a new way to marketing services and products globally.

Some of our news are already today written by AI (a code) , how can automatization effect on the future development.

Facebook has created about 400 million new jobs?

Our work tasks are changing at the moment and this happens within all branches in the world.

Cross over collaboration in the companies, organisations etc

The direction of development.

  • Individualized
  • Optimized
  • Global

Darja Isaksson quotes Carl Heath.

  • digitalization of processes for organizing education
  • digitalization of teaching and learning processes
  • digitalization of individual pupils and students own environment

What happens when development goes too fast? We are used to think as 'a country' but what happens in the global context. We are going to be forced to think globally in the near future.

Darja puts the question "How are we actually collaborating in Sweden?" We have the digital possibilities but hence Sweden is only on the 31st place of collaboration at work. This is a leadership question, to able the collaborative way of working.

"Important to us to share with each others, encourage collaborative way of working, learn from other authorities and systems."

Our task is to process in our groups is to flip the pyramid. The instructions given below (these will be translated during the pause due to we are now working with the task)

12.30pm - 2.15pm Sven Törnqvist

Information about his keynote will be added later on this afternoon due to 'no possibility' to charge my computer. :/ Sorry about this.

2.40pm - 4pm Maria Stockhaus, a member of the Swedish parliament.

4 challenges for Swedish school

  • Results
  • Equivalence
  • Lack of teachers - lack of teacher competence
  • Digitalization

Central questions:

The role of politicians?

Do we need to digitize the school system? *reflection: yes, we do need to do that.

What should happen?

  • Vision
  • Teacher education system
  • Further education for teachers
  • The Strategy
    • Goal(s)
    • Assigned to faciliatate
  • How do you do it?

Teacher degree goal:

  • demonstrate the ability to safely and critically use digital tools in the educational activities and to consider the role of different media and digital environments for this role. *free translation

Maria talks about the role of the society, parents and economy (the costs) in the context of implementing as well as developing existing digital processes we have in the municipalities.

Questions to discuss in groups:

  • Parents - (voters) - How can we affect to get them aboard?
  • What kind of decisions are to be taken at the municipality level?
    • How do we get there?
  • What decisions are to be taken at governmental level?

What is the politicians’ role in the development of digitalization of Swedish school system? Listen to Maria Stockhaus' answer here to right:
