Flipgrid

Another fantastic tool which is accessible through Hwb but can also be accessed with a Google or personal Microsoft login. Flipgrid is a website that allows teachers to create "grids" to facilitate video discussions. Each grid is like a message board where teachers can pose questions, called "topics," and their students can post video responses that appear in a tiled grid display.

Using Flipgrid in the classroom has been proven to increase the standards of speaking and listening and also provides a platform where learners feel comfortable and confident with sharing their views and opinions. Creating a Group

When first setting up Flipgrid, you will need to create a 'Group' or 'Grid'. This is essentially another name for your classroom.

Adding a Co-Pilot

This step is so important! Adding a co-pilot to your grid will ensure an essential level of safeguarding within your grids.

Setting up Topics

Topics are the starting points for all of your discussions within Flipgrid. You may want your children to present something, retell a story or collaborate with other children on an oracy topic. This video gives you all the tools you need to facilitate that in your classroom.

Recording responses

There are so many different tools available to you and the learners when using the camera within Flipgrid. These tools allow learners to be creative with their recordings but also enables them to filter the video to hide their identity.

Recording Feedback

Recording feedback orally has been proven to be an engaging and purposeful way of providing feedback to your learners. Using Flipgrid to do this is a great way of doing this, find out more in this video!

The Flipgrid shorts camera is a great way of sharing instruction, feedback and personal messages with your students. In this video, we explore how this can be done in your classroom!
