Rilke Schule Giving Tree Project
In light of recent potential hardships due to the government shutdown and SNAP benefit delays, in partnership with RSV, we are launching a new initiative: the Rilke Schule Giving Tree. As the past few weeks have shown us, any family can be impacted by hardships at any time. Our hope for this Giving Tree is to provide a way for Rilke families to help support each other in times of need throughout the year, while maintaining the utmost privacy and dignity to any family requesting support.
In the near future, you will see the Rilke Schule Giving Tree in the Front Office adorned with "ornaments," each with 1 potential need listed on it. For example, a $50 Fred Meyer gift card, a $25 gas card, or a specific size of a clothing item. When you are in a position to give and support others, you can take 1 or more ornaments off the tree, purchase the item(s), then return the item(s) with the ornament ideally within 1 week to the front office. You can come back to fulfill needs as often as you are able. Red ornaments will have more specific/urgent requested needs, while the yellow ornaments will have more general needs (such as grocery store gift cards) so that Frau Adney will have an on-hand supply for immediate access.
If at any time throughout the school year, you are in a time of need, please reach out to our school nurse, Frau Adney, at adney_amanda@asdk12.org or stop by her office and let her know of your need. As a healthcare professional and trusted member of the Rilke community, Frau Adney has volunteered to be the main, and likely only, contact aware of any requests for support in order to maintain discretion and privacy for each family.
We are grateful for each family involved in the Rilke community and hope for all to feel supported throughout each of your student's education journeys.
Sincerely,
Frau Adney and the Rilke Schule Verein
