First things first- you need to have a plan. Lets start by preparing some ideas to incorporate within the design. Sketching out the entire area makes things easier especially when it comes to adding on to the project in the future and helps visualize the finished product.

Planning also helps being consistent with your design. Let's say your project is a nice stamped patio but you have also wanted a pool or a new garage in the future. For example, once a patio is installed there may not be access for electrical to your future pool or garage without planning ahead and installing buried conduit. Planning for these things will help speed the processes along and also save money in the future. Our goal is to provide you with a service that works with your future plans on your home design.

This subject might seem like an obvious no-brainer, but determining your budget helps you proceed with your decisions and changes along the way. Budgets will determine if you should build your project in phases or all at once. Have you thought about having your home value appraised before and after your planned outdoor renovation? We recommend having your home value appraised to see how much of an increase you may receive after your renovations. You may find that you want to budget a little more for that patio you wanted.

Choosing your materials:

Budget helps with this decision, but shouldn’t be the only consideration when choosing the materials for your project. We should also pay attention to durability and style. Decide if you prefer modern or natural styles to best compliment your home.

Also being mindful of your home, do the colors you love match your house? Do you want to use brick, stone, or concrete for your driveway, patio, walkway? If you’re not hardscaping everything at once, this might not be your only project. Choose materials that compliment your home and can be continued through other outdoor renovation/addition ideas.
