AT RIESEL ISD, SAFETY AND SECURITY OF OUR STUDENTS AND STAFF IS OUR TOP PRIORITY.
We Strive to create a "Riesel Strong" mentality! All of our safety policies and programs are vetted and carefully crafted to ensure the safest environment possible . "Riesel Strong" means that we take a proactive approach to safety as we learn from past events and project what we need for the future. Promoting a culture where everyone works as one, training, anticipating, reporting, and caring for every student and staff member. " Riesel Strong" before an event and not after
Tip Safe allows Students. Parents , or Staff to report Bullying, Suspicious Activity, or Threats, to School Police and Administrators
In addition to Our ISD Police Chief and Riesel Police Department, our campuses are guarded by trained and armed staff members who will do whatever is necessary to protect students and staff
Keeping our Campuses Secure - Visitor Policy
All Visitors to campuses must enter through Main Entrance
Staff will screen visitors with use of intercom and Access control
All visitors will need a Drivers License to be screened by our visitor management system
Visitors must have a visitors badge to exit offices and enter main building

Emergency Procedures and Protocols for Riesel ISD
In the event of any school emergency:
Do not come to your child’s campus unless instructed(Campuses are being secured, additional visitors will tie up resources and cause Law Enforcement and First responders to divert needed resources
Riesel lSD will use its School message site and Skyward to push out information for parents. We will also post information on the district Facebook and Twitter sites
Updates about emergencies and reunification plans will be coming as soon as situation is under control and campuses are secure
Watch local media stations for reported instructions.
School office phones may be jammed and not reachable
Make sure Admin office has your most updated cell number and email address
All Staff and Students go through age appropriate emergency training using the Standard Response Protocol , as well as the ALERRT Active Attack training, including Training for Stop the Bleed
First Aid Kits including Stop the Bleed kits are placed in classrooms and gathering spaces
Please discuss the training with them and reinforce action in an emergency
