This is an additional math class that gives students extra support to catch up to their grade level skills. Final grades are Pass / No Pass.
- Advisory
All students have Advisory at the beginning of the school day, with the same teacher all year. They hear announcements, the WeekLEE News, lessons for AVID, SEL, PBIS, Naviance, and Lexia. Final grades are Pass / No Pass.

If students or parents want to know if the student has missing assignments, then go to StudentVUE or ParentVUE to see unfinished ("missing") classwork. Grades are posted or updated every 2 weeks.

Students may turn in missing work or redo assignments. If they complete any assignments after the deadline, they must tell me they finished it (in person or send me a message). Then I will update the online gradebook within the next 2 weeks.

In the HB Lee Math Department, 20% of student grade is based on formative assessments (practice/participation), and 80% of student grade is summative assessments (unit test scores). We use Proficiency-Based Grading (see images), and I provide many opportunities to practice and resources to prepare for the tests. Resources can be found in Schoology.

Students may retake their tests, but they must first complete all of their IXL assignments. If they still want to improve their grade after retaking a test, they need to tell me and I will give them one other opportunity.

To learn more information about our Classroom Economy, click here and select "Riedl Bank." The only way that it impacts a student's grade is the "formative assessments" category, where they would lose points if they are given a consequence for not participating or following directions.

How to View Grades
How to View Grades
StudentVUE is how students can view their grades and assignments. In StudentVUE, select the Gradebook section, then the school subject to see the grade for that class. Any missing work will be indicated with the word "Missing" next to the assignment.

Progress Reports are given to students in the middle of each quarter. These are usually given to students in Advisory class, and students are expected to bring them home to show their family. The Progress Report is a snapshot of student grades for each class so far in the quarter. There is still time for students to turn in the assignments they are missing! If students have low grades, then usually they just need to complete missing work and retake their assessments.
