ELEMENTARY CURRICULUM COORDINATOR / GIFTED & TALENTED COORDINATOR
Greetings!
Throughout my career I've been blessed to teach in a variety of elementary and outdoor settings. In the Front Range of Colorado, I taught at a classical school, and later at a project-based-learning school. I had the joy of combining my love of teaching and travel when I taught at an American School in El Salvador. During the summer months, I’ve had the privilege of adventuring in the outdoors with kids. Some of my favorite outdoor education programs have been mountain biking and river rafting with local and visiting youth.
The Elementary Curriculum Coordinator and the GT Coordinator roles allow me to collaboratively curate and create learning experiences that engage and empower all learners in our ever-changing world. I believe that enhancing student engagement and ownership through diverse instructional methods, both inside and outside the classroom walls, has the power to change lives, advance social justice, and help generate the best outcomes for all students. I also enjoy leveraging the outdoor opportunities which abound in our mountainous hometown, as I believe nature makes people happier and more creative, which translates to academic and emotional gains in students.
I hold a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Colorado Christian University where I also earned my Bachelor of Arts in Educational Theory. I believe my innate curiosity and desire to collaborate with other educators and community members help to hone my instructional practice.
It is a true honor to be a part of the Ridgway community and a team member of RES!
