HS Spanish / HS Learning Specialist
My name is Kirstie Cantwell and I have been teaching since 2013. This year, I am excited to be back in the Spanish language classroom - a subject that I am truly passionate about.
I was born and raised in Arkansas, where I also completed my education. Shortly after graduating from the University of Arkansas, I moved to Puebla, Mexico where I taught English Language and Literature at the American School of Puebla until 2018. Throughout my time in Mexico, I was able to travel the country and immerse myself in the language and culture.
Growing up I was lucky to have many family vacations in Ouray, Colorado. My first opportunity to move to Colorado was with Vail Mountain School, where I taught and led many outdoor adventures as the middle school Spanish teacher for 6 years. After meeting my husband in Vail, we got married in the San Juan mountains and moved to Ridgway a year later.
In our free time, we love to adventure in the backcountry year round: hiking and camping in the summers and skiing in the winter.
