Curriculum

Students will focus on developing their reading comprehension, fluency, accuracy, and vocabulary. The use of key reading skills will aide in reading development. Students should be reading 20 minutes daily.

Students will focus on developing key addition and subtraction strategies. They will also develop skills related to place value, measurement, geometry, time, and money. Practice math facts daily!

Students will learn how to write personal narratives, poems, nonfictional informational books, and about their opinions within our Lucy Caulkins Units of Study.

Students will get to celebrate their writing at the end of each unit.

Science and social studies will be incorporate within our reading and writing curriculum. They will learn throughout the year about agriculture, our planet long ago, fairy tales, the human body, and oceans.
