Ridgefield Public Schools Technology Committees, 2026-2027
Ridgefield Public Schools is establishing the structures and processes that will guide its technology work over the long term. This year, two committees begin that work across three interconnected areas, with student well-being at the center and the goal of building trust through transparency, intentionality, and shared understanding.
The RPS Technology Working Committee held its first meeting on October 6, 2026. Representing all grade levels and departments, this K-12 group will review the advisory committee's insights across our three priority areas (Teaching and Learning, Digital Privacy & Security, and Digital Citizenship) and recommend next steps and who should lead them. Our guiding commitments include a coherent vision across every school, tool-neutral standards, innovation alongside our teachers, and clear, two-way communication with our community.
Technology changes quickly, and families deserve to know how Ridgefield Public Schools decides which tools students use, how student information is protected, and how students learn to navigate a digital world responsibly.
Following an external review by the Tri-State Consortium in spring 2026 (read the report), RPS established two committees to guide this work across three interconnected areas: Teaching & Learning, and Educational Technology; Data Privacy and Security; and Digital Citizenship. Student well-being is at the center of every decision, and our goal is to build trust through transparency, intentionality, and shared understanding.
This page is where we will share that work as it happens. After each committee meeting, we will post what we heard and what comes next, so the community can see not only what decisions RPS makes, but also how and why.
How do we make intentional decisions about when technology serves students and when it does not?
How do we protect stakeholders who trust us with their information?
How do we prepare students and RPS stakeholders to participate safely, critically, and responsibly in a digital world?
