A Library Learning Commons, commonly reffered to as an LLC, is the next generation of media center. This is a location where work can be done individually, but also in groups. Collaboration is an important element of learning, and to facilitate this, there are tables set to work in groups of 4.
Anyone can use the LLC! Staff will reserve rooms for classes, and students are invited to work in the LLC during free periods. For a student to use the LLC, one must scan their school ID at the entrance.
There are three permanent staff members in our LLC. The two Library Media Specialists are Mr. Peterson and Mrs. Davis, and Mrs. Fowler is our right-hand; any one of those three are willing and able to help.
Any student who is looking for a place to find productivity is welcome. At any given day, we have over 300 students come and go, with many more than that during testing periods. In the LLC, you will come across individual cubical seating, collaboration tables, and even some more comfortable seating. Remember at all times, that this location is dedicated to student academics.
The LLC is NOT a place to gather with friends to play cellphone/computer games; if that is what you're looking for, the Student Center should be your go-to.
Students should not take up more than one seat - 'reserving' seats and spreading out is discouraged.
Excessive and/or distracting noise is seen as a distraction to many of our academically-minded students; collaboration is encouraged, but so is appropriate volume.
Drinks are welcome, but food and snacks are strictly prohibited.
