2024 Civics Bowl

A Free Community Event and K-8 Competition

Join us for a fun-filled afternoon at East Ridge Middle School

to test your civics knowledge!

If you are in grades 4-5 or 6-8, build a team with two friends to compete with other 4-5 or 6-8 graders, respectively, and win prizes. Register online as a team now or register individually and find a team at the event. As you compete, you will test your knowledge of the 50 states, U.S. Presidents, and the Constitution. If you are in grades K-3, play games or make arts and crafts to build your civics skills.

Competitors: Calling 4-5th and 6-8th graders to show off their civic knowledge!

Schedule of Events:

1:30 PM: Check-in and welcome. Enjoy a complimentary pocket Constitution!

2:00 PM: Time for the competition! 4-5 and 6-8 grade teams complete activities to earn points while younger students in K-3rd grades learn about civics and geography through arts & crafts.

3:30 PM: Final challenge between top two teams in each grade band! Don't miss it! $25 Gift Card Prize from The Books on the Common to the winning team members!

4:00 PM: Take your newfound civic pride and lead in your community!

Our Mission

The Civics Bowl provides an opportunity for students and families to learn about civic life in order to become more informed and engaged citizens within their communities.

Volunteer

Are you a high schooler passionate about civics? Are you looking for volunteer hours? Do you want to support fun, community-building activities? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, click the link below to volunteer!

Volunteers will meet at East Ridge Middle School at 12:00pm on Sunday, September 15 to help set up the event, receive instructions, and prepare for the competition. From 2:00 - 4:00, volunteers will run the competition for grades 4-5 and 6-8 as well as guiding K-3 students through arts and crafts activities.

This event is being organized by Ms President US, a non-profit civic leadership program in partnership with the Ridgefield Public Schools.

Proceeds and donations go to support the Ms President US Scholarship fund.
