Mountain Bike Instruction & Coaching

Coaching Sessions

Our taster and one off coaching sessions are aimed at riders looking to learn and develop new skills and techniques. Our professional instructors use British Cycling level 2 session plans for one of lessons, adapted to your age, ability and fitness. For developing riders we like to use the Go MTB Award resources, specially developed by Cycling Scotland, but you'll need to book in advance so that we can get them in.

Go MTB is a progressive mountain bike achievement award that enables you to advance your technical riding skills as well as learning how to look after yourself, your bike, the environment and other people.

There are four themes to the Award and five levels of achievement within each theme. These cater to all levels of experience, from novice to expert. Go MTB teaches you more than just technical skills, it aims to teach you everything you need to know to ride the Scottish hills and mountains. Go MTB covers:

  • Riding Skills
  • First Aid
  • Being Independent and Self-Supporting
  • Sharing the Outdoors

We like to match the trails and facilities we teach on to the age and ability of the riders, so we pick between a number of local trail centres depending on what we're doing. If you have a favourite, just let us know in advance.

Our coaching session are either half- or full day and can be run one to one or for groups of 4 to 8 participants. We also offer public sessions, check for our calendar for availability.
