Each team is permitted a maximum of 10 players, 1 manager, 2 coaches, and 1 additional staff member as needed.
The better-seeded team will wear white uniforms unless an alternative color is agreed upon verbally by both head coaches prior to the game. T-shirts or other undergarments worn under the uniform must be white, black, or match the team’s primary uniform color. All players on a team must wear matching uniforms and undergarments.
Teams are responsible for ensuring player availability if evaluation or treatment is required by the athletic trainer or other medical professional. Note: Each school is responsible for bringing their own first aid and taping materials.

Playing Time: Four (4) 8-minute quarters. Halftime will be 10 minutes.
Shot Clock: 35 seconds, in accordance with ESDAA bylaws.
Time-Outs: Each team is allotted four (4) full time-outs (1 minute each) and two (2) 30-second time-outs per game.
Bonus: Team bonus begins on the 7th team foul. Double bonus begins on the 10th team foul. Team fouls reset at halftime.
Free Throws: Players lined up along the lane may enter the lane once the ball contacts the rim.
Mouth Guards: Strongly recommended per NFHS guidelines. Mouth guards are especially recommended for players with braces.
Rule: Beginning at the start of the second half, if a team leads by 35 points or more, the game clock will run continuously. The clock will only stop for shooting fouls and time-outs. Once the mercy rule is in effect, the clock will not stop, even if the lead falls below 35 points during the remainder of the game.
Approval: Adopted by the ESDAA Athletic Directors on 11/16 and effective starting with the 2018 season.
Certified athletic trainers will be available on-site throughout the tournament. Schools are encouraged to make use of these services to help ensure athlete safety and optimal performance. Below are the names, photos, and scheduled on-site dates and times for each athletic trainer.
Drugs and Alcohol: The possession or use of drugs or alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited on the RISD campus. Any violation of this policy will result in immediate expulsion from the tournament and may require the student to be sent home.
Property Damage: Any deliberate damage to or destruction of RISD or hotel property will result in expulsion from the tournament and may require the student to be sent home. Full payment for damages must be made prior to departure from campus.
Conduct and Behavior: Any misconduct observed by RISD staff will be reported to the student’s coach. Students are expected to demonstrate cooperation and respect toward all adults who are assisting or correcting behavior.
Smoking: Smoking or the use of tobacco or vaping products is not permitted anywhere on the RISD campus.
Identification Badges: Identification badges must be worn during meal times in the cafeteria in order to receive meals. Badges should be visible at all times while on the RISD campus and are required for admission to all games.
Campus Supervision: Participants may not leave the RISD campus at any time without direct supervision from their coach.
Valuables: All valuables should be kept with the team coach. RISD is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.
Fire Safety: In the event of a fire alarm, immediately exit the building using the nearest available exit and follow staff instructions.
Water: Please bring your own water bottles. Water jugs will be available in the gym for refilling purposes.
Locker Rooms: Locker rooms will be available for team use; however, teams will not be assigned specific lockers. Locker rooms will remain locked at all times. RISD is not responsible for lost, stolen, or unsecured personal items.
