The Richmond Neighborhood Center has been a vital part of San Francisco’s Richmond District for more than 45 years. Committed to supporting and connecting neighbors of all ages, the Center provides youth programs, community events, and food security efforts that celebrate the district’s diversity and bring people together.
The SELF (Shop-Eat-Local-First) initiative is a cornerstone program of One Richmond, a community-driven effort of The Richmond Neighborhood Center. Established in 2019, One Richmond serves as a vital resource hub located at 802 Clement Street, dedicated to connecting neighbors with local services, events, and opportunities to support small businesses throughout the Richmond District.
The SELF Shop-Eat-Local-First program was introduced to encourage residents to shop and dine locally, fostering a vibrant and resilient community. This ongoing initiative offers a discount card that provides exclusive deals at participating businesses, many of which are immigrant- and women-owned. The program aims to uplift these local enterprises and promote a thriving neighborhood economy.
One Richmond, a program of The Richmond Neighborhood Center not only supports local businesses but also strengthens community ties by encouraging neighbors to engage with and invest in their local economy. The initiative aligns with One Richmond's core values: inclusivity, mutual care, neighborhood stewardship, and a commitment to shopping and eating local.
