CareerZone is a career exploration tool developed by the New York State Department of Labor found at www.careerzone.ny.gov provided at no-cost to users. CareerZone packages career information specifically for New York State through up-to-date details on more than 800 occupations with over 450 career videos.
The CareerZone portfolio career plan allows students to track their work experience, interests, college and job training searches and other career related activities.
In addition to the career plan portfolio, CareerZone allows students to plan their finances with the new “Dollars and $ense” budgeting tool, explore careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) field, and develop personalized resumes.
My Next Move is an interactive tool for job seekers and students to learn more about their career options. My Next Move has tasks, skills, salary information, and more for over 900 different careers. Users can find careers through keyword search; by browsing industries that employ different types of workers; or through the O*NET Interest Profiler, a tool that offers personalized career suggestions based on a person's interests and level of work experience.
