Dear Church Families, Students, and Friends,
As I sit down to write this final newsletter, my heart is overflowing with a profound sense of gratitude, reflection, and love. Life is defined by seasons, and as this current season draws to a close, I want to share a few parting reflections on the journey we have walked together.
It has been an absolute honor and privilege to serve the body of Christ as your youth pastor across all three of our churches for the past 3 ½ years. Stepping into this multi-church ministry was an incredible calling, and watching how our communities corporate, grow, and blend together to support our youth has been nothing short of an overwhelming blessing. Over these years, we have shared countless lessons on Christ, small groups, bible studies, coffee runs, Winter-Jams, water wars, dodge ball tournaments (where we totally dominated), mission trips and quiet moments of deep realization together as a group . To be able to witness the spiritual journeys of your children into young adults is a grace and privilege- I do not take lightly.
We recently wrapped up our seasonal calendar with our end-of-the-year Oasis party, and it was truly a spectacular, joyful milestone. The event was very fun, giving our families a beautiful opportunity to celebrate summer fun with laughter, fellowship, and love, one last time all together. Seeing the parents and students dance to MJ and run around the church playing Star Wars Tag reminded me of the unique fabric that binds this ministry together, love. It was the perfect send-off to an unforgettable chapter.
Looking back on the milestones we have hit since I arrived, I am continually amazed by the resilience and depth of our students. I will never forget this remarkable group and the families that made it worth trying harder and harder to educate and inspire the wonderful students entrusted to my care. On days that were exhausting, your encouragement, your partnership, and your commitment to a Christ-centered home made every ounce of effort meaningful. You pushed me to be a better teacher, a better leader, and a better pastor.
I pray that the youth are able to grow into mature future church leaders for the next generation of believers, anchored deeply and securely in the truth of the Gospel. Furthermore, I pray that the church, along with their families, fiercely supports all of them moving forward, surrounding them with the wisdom, patience, and love they need to thrive in this crazy world.
Though my role as your youth pastor is ending, my belief in what these students will accomplish many important victories for the Kingdom of God, and now is only beginning. They are not just the future of the church; they are the church right now. Please continue to advocate for them, listen to them, and create spaces where their faith can safely mature.
With deepest love, gratitude, and prayers for your continued journey
Stephen Flores
