25 minutes will be given for this assessment. Students who finish early will move directly into their self-assessment.

For the summative assessment, the teacher will grade based on student accuracy, but partial credit will be given for wrong answers if the work shown shows a coherent thought process when answering the problem.

Self-Assessment

Students will complete a self-assessment after the summative assessment. The grades students give themselves will be useful insight for the partial credit the teacher gives for incorrect answers.

Formative Assessments

Formative assessments in this unit include the Quick Check used on Days 1 and 9, reflections in student math journals every day, and "Fist to Five" on Day 4.
