Hello and thank you for visiting my page!  My name is Craig Montag and I am the fifth grade science teacher at Richland Elementary School.  This is my 8th year teaching at Richland, and I am very excited to teach the content to my fifth grade students. Although this is my eighth year teaching at Richland, I have been teaching now for thirteen years. After graduating from Penn State in 2009, I took my first teaching job in Mifflin County.  I taught two years in Mifflin County before returning to the area.  I spent five years teaching a 5th grade classroom at Central Cambria School District.  Although I loved my years teaching at Central Cambria, I always knew that I wanted to return to Richland to be a Ram again.

Outside of school I love spending time with my wife, Jenna, who is also a teacher, my four-year old son, Levi, and our one-year old boy, Luke.  Although our little guys are absorbing most of my free time, I love spending as much time as possible outdoors.  Hunting, archery, and fly-fishing are my favorite hobbies.  In the fall, I love spending time at our camp in Cameron county.

If you have any questions or concerns throughout the school year, please do not hesitate to contact me.  It is vital that we all stay on the same page throughout the year; teacher, parents, and student.

Please use this website to check for upcoming assignments, classroom events, and other information that will help you to keep in touch with your child's education.
