Will transportation be provided?

Students will need to find their own transportation to and from Longleaf Middle School.

What time can I drop off my child?

Students can be dropped off as early as 7:30 am. Announcements begin at 7:55 am and rehearsals will start promptly at 8:00 am.

I don't have an instrument, how can I get one?

Students will need their own instrument in order to participate. Please click here for more information.

How much musical instruction will my child receive a day?

Students will have rehearsals each day, and sectionals. Students generally play their instruments for a few hours, but with enough breaks to avoid fatigue, and they have plenty of recreational time as well. There will be a short finale camp concert on Thursday!

What does my child need to bring to camp?

At the beginning of July 2024, you will receive an email confirmation with information, including the following information: Your child will need their instrument, shoulder rest (violin/viola students), rosin, cleaning cloth, rock stops (cello/bass students), music folder/binder, and a pencil. We have no problem with cell phones being used at appropriate break times. Your child may use their phone at any appropriate time to stay in contact with you, although don’t be surprised if they’re having too much fun to call!

Will my child need to bring his/her own lunch?

No, we will not have a lunch break since camp ends at 12pm. HOWEVER, you are encouraged to send your child with a heavy snack to eat during their break time! A camp pizza lunch will be provided on Thursday before our concert and to close out a fun week!

Is there a late registration option if I miss the June 30 registration deadline?
