I’m Scott D. Price

I’m an engineer, business founder, and serial entrepreneur who has specialized in startup and transitioning tech companies.

I’ve done it all--sales, product design, project management, regulatory affairs, process development, and technical customer support.

And now, I’m the Engineering and Computer Science instructor at Spring Valley High School in Columbia, South Carolina.

Professional Experience

I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and have more than 30 years of engineering, project management, and technician experience. I’ve worked in the fields of secure and satellite electronic communications, electrical power monitoring, cardiac diagnostic device design, and railroad infrastructure diagnostics.

As the owner and Chief Technical Officer of a consulting firm, I have worked with software developers, attorneys, e-commerce businesses, real estate brokerages, builders, and restaurants taking a systematic, data-backed, engineering approach to analyzing business processes, digital marketing, sales cycles, and product design.

I have also coached and mentored two award-winning teams in the Global Startup Challenge.

Since changing careers to education, I have served on the committee to modernize the Engineering educational standards for the state of South Carolina, coached award-winning teams in Richland School District 2 Hackathons, mentored numerous South Carolina Junior Academy of Science placed students, participated in nation-wide panels for STEM education, and filmed Career and Technology Education courses in conjunction with the South Carolina Educational Television Network.

Personal

I’m a husband and the dad of two marvelous, high-achieving, special needs kids. Accordingly, community involvement is a large slice of my life. I volunteer with several nonprofit organizations--I am a board member of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of South Carolina’s Arnold School of Public Health and I am a member of the Cochlear Corporation’s Ambassador Network.
