This course provides training in the basics for working in an automotive shop, and prepares students to go on to the program’s advanced levels. Students explore career opportunities and the requirements for working as a professional service technician. Content emphasizes beginning transportation service skills and workplace success skills. Students study safety, tools, equipment, shop operations, basic engine fundamentals, and basic technician skills.
After completing this course, the student will be familiar with all tasks in engine performance and repair. He or she must perform all high priority tasks to manufacturer’s specifications and document the completion of each task.
