At Sandlapper Elementary, StarCON is a schoolwide showcase event held twice a year, where students become presenters and share their learning in computer science. Families and community members are invited to explore interactive exhibits featuring student projects in coding, robotics, and digital design—celebrating creativity, problem-solving, and innovation across all grade levels.

StarCON helps students build confidence in communication and leadership, reinforces the school’s computer science theme, and strengthens family partnerships.
Students present projects from across the year such as coding creations in Tynker, LEGO Robotics builds, or Minecraft Education worlds. These projects highlight how computer science connects to core subjects like math, ELA, science, and social studies.
Parents, guardians, and guests are invited to visit classrooms and interactive stations. They have opportunities to ask questions, provide feedback, and learn how computer science is integrated throughout the curriculum.
Each StarCON has a fun, “conference-style” atmosphere - similar to professional conventions (like Comic-Con), but focused on students as innovators and presenters.
