In order for a student to receive a School for the Arts diploma and special recognition at the
Ridge View High School graduation ceremony, a student must successfully complete the prescribed course of study as follows:
maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA,
accrue 6.0 credit hours in elective arts credits, including at least three (3) credit hours in declared core arts area*,
Complete one (1.0) credit hour in arts classes outside of their core area.
*Students must declare a core arts area by the end of the Sophomore year.
*Seniors are expected to reach the Talented and Gifted Level (or highest level offered) in their core arts area
In addition, students will be required to complete a meeting with the SFA Director indicating their interest in continuing in School for the Arts for the following school year. This will ensure Priority Scheduling for each School for the Arts student and individualized attention in preparing his/her schedule. This may take place at student's scheduled IGP meeting.
