School for the Arts
The School for the Arts is a collaborative learning community designed to inspire excellence in artistic and academic studies through a rigorous, integrated arts curriculum. School for the Arts students are required to take a minimum of 6.0 arts credits (3 in the arts area of acceptance) and must maintain a GPA of 2.5 all four years of high school. Students are expected to complete the Freshman Seminar, an entry-level course focusing on each arts area, and a Senior Project demonstrating work in an internship, service learning or an exhibition/performance. School for the Arts students may apply for special programs, attend workshops and conferences, participate in field studies, work with visiting performing and visual artists, compete in community, state, and national exhibitions/performances, and develop an appreciation for all the arts.
