The Art II program is designed based upon the goals
identified in the SC Visual Arts Standards. Art II is an extension of what was to be
learned in Art I. The curriculum enables students to develop their creative
abilities for making art (studio), interpreting and evaluating visual images (art
criticism), understanding the cultural and historical contexts of art (art history),
and raising questions about the nature of art (aesthetics).
Art II will further encompass the elements of art and principles of design, while
developing a more focused and technical level of skill with various tools and
media. Art II will be a more in depth study of many art processes and techniques
that will enhance the student’s art studio spectrum.
