Richland Two has made some big changes to the Chromebook insurance and fee structure for 2025-2026. Please be sure to log into the Parent Portal and click on Documents on the left side to view the Responsible Use Procedures and the 2025-2026 School Year Technology Fee Schedule.
The biggest change is that there is no longer a Chromebook/Technology Protection Plan Fee; you will not see this $20 fee on your account this year. Instead, there is a fee charged for each incidence of damage to your child's Chromebook. Again, please read this new district policy very carefully so that there are no surprises if your child damages his/her Chromebook or loses a case/charger. Also note that the protective cases issued by the district are REQUIRED to be on your child's Chromebook at all times. If the case is missing from the Chromebook, you will be charged for a new case and may be charged the maximum damage fee or prorated value of the device if it is damaged.
Students will be receiving their Chromebooks during the first four days of school.
All students are required to bring their fully-charged Chromebooks to school every day. They may not bring their own devices from home to use instead of the district-provided Chromebooks. Please help us by ensuring that they keep their personal devices at home; this will assist the teachers and administrators with enforcing the district and state Free to Focus policy.
If you have any Chromebook-related questions, please feel free to reach out to me by email. I'm happy to help!
