Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

Welcome to Summit Parkway Middle and Sixth Grade! My name is Erica M. McCord and I am very excited about having you in my homeroom and/or math class, getting to know you, and learning and growing with you throughout the school year! This is my eighteenth year as an educator, and I am proud to be an “Eagle.” I graduated from Claflin University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. I received my Master’s in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Lesley University. I am Gifted and Talented certified as well as having my Read to Succeed endorsement. I am passionate about sharing my love of learning and math with my students. I have high expectations for all my students and enjoy seeing them grow over the school year.

I believe in order for every child to do his/her personal best and experience success this year, it is imperative that you, your child, and I work as a team. I feel certain that we all share the common interest of wanting the best for your child. The best way to do that is for us to have open lines of communication and to support each other throughout the school year. The best way to reach me is via email; I will respond as soon as I can, but definitely within two business days of your email. My website is available to assist you and your child with being successful this school year.

Parents, please discuss with your child the importance of coming to class prepared daily as well as the importance of following all school and classroom procedures. This will help to ensure that we have an environment where quality teaching and learning can take place. My lessons will be devised with the purpose of actively engaging students and helping them to grow both academically and socially.

I am looking forward to the start of the 2022-2023 school year and the opportunity to work with your family!

Fourth Quarter: 06/2022 (report cards mailed)
