Third grade students celebrated Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a special visit from Mrs. Faipa Loa Cheek and her daughter, Tausala. Mrs. Cheek shared the history, geography, and culture of her homeland, American Samoa, while Tausala taught students a native dance. At our Arts Integrated Magnet School, students learn through culture, movement, storytelling, and hands-on experiences like this.
