Library Mission Statement:
The mission of the Lonnie B. Nelson library media program is to instill a love of reading in all students and to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. Students are encouraged to be critical thinkers, passionate readers, expert researchers and ethical users of information. To make certain that students achieve these goals, and meet the school's and district's goals of equipping life-long learners,
the library media center staff will:
* collaborate with staff to create authentic learning opportunities
* provide quality resources and instruction for students and staff
* be an integral part of Lonnie B. Nelson Elementary and its surrounding community.
Kindergarten and First Grade
Students are able to check out one book at a time, with a two-week due date.
Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade
Students are able to check out two books at a time, with a two-week due date.
All Students:
Books will become Overdue if not returned after two weeks. If a book is overdue fro 60 days the book will be marked as lost, a message will go home via parent square and if the book is not found a fine will be assessed for the cost of the book.
