Hello! My name is Marquette Bolden and I am your students 6th grade science teacher this year! I have been teaching for a total of 9 years. Before I became a teacher, I perused a career in the medical field by obtaining an Associate Degree in Medical Assisting. I then completed my Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education (K-6th) and am currently finishing my Master's Degree in Secondary Biology. I have always loved science and when I was your students age my dream was to be a Marine Biologist, but life had other plans, and I was blessed to be led down the path of Education. I love being a teacher and helping to support students grow in their academic success. I am a military spouse and have lived in a total of 9 states and 3 countries. I have traveled to 11 different countries and LOVE to travel. I have 2 children, a daughter named Alexis who will be in 8th grade this year, and son named Marcus, who will be in 3rd grade. We have 3 pets, a dog named Bailey, an aquatic turtle named, Luna, and a crested gecko names, Echo. I also have Pancake, our class pet who is a corn snake. Some of my hobbies include painting, reading, and hiking. Fall is my favorite time of the year as I prefer cooler weather and my birthday is in September!
You can contact me through ParentSquare, email, or phone during my planning time (3rd and 4th Period). Please see the resources page for important information to include, contact information, classroom management plan, and this year's syllabus, plus many other helpful resources.
I look forward to our school year together and can not wait to get to know you and your students better as we embark on this exciting adventure known as middle school!
