Welcome! My name is Kimberley Norris-Jones and I am in my fifteenth year of teaching at Richland Northeast (RNH). I earned my Bachelor's in Geology along with an Officer’s commission into the US Army Reserve from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington in 1987. After working for the United States Geological Survey's Water Resource Division, I obtained an MAT in Secondary Education and Earth Sciences. Following a 16-month deployment to the Middle East, I began teaching a variety of science courses in 2006. Since returning from my third deployment in 2015, I have had the pleasure of teaching Earth Science, Chemistry, and Environmental Studies. For the 2024-25 school year, I am teaching two sections of Earth Science, two sections of Chemistry, and two sections of Environmental Studies.
This year I will assist the Track and Field team with middle and long distance; in addition to continuing working with RNH’s Palmetto Center for the Arts (PCA) as a house manager for various productions. Off-campus, when I am not reading, knitting, playing guitar, or gardening, I serve on the Board of Directors for the National Earth Science Teachers Association and spend time creating glass art or traveling in order to explore. So far, I have either lived in or visited 42 states, 1 US territory, and 12 countries on 3 continents.
Should you need me, I am but a phone call or email away!
