Everyday, African-American citizens fall victim to unequal health services, comparably to white citizens at the hands of medical professionals. These disparities create a multitude of problems for African-Americans. Causes of these differences include ethnicity, housing situations, insurance status, annual income, education level access to care, socioeconomic status as well as other factors associated with race. However, race alone can impact provided services. In order to improve the health of African-Americans changes such as decreasing the implicit and explicit biases from medical professionals as well as increasing the diversity of workers in hospitals must come into effect.
