Finding Balance in the Classrooms
A peek into a student's day in the Diamond Scholars Academy will find a variety of lessons, assignments, and activities going on. Throughout a day, students will learn through various lesson styles, ranging from lectures, to discussions, to small group projects, to individual research. Projects abound, teaching students how to navigate the problem-solving world that awaits them.
Seeking Mastery
As teachers plan lessons and review data, their goal is to guide students towards content mastery. This means that the grade on a report card is not the end-all indicator of whether or not a student is comprehending material from class. Our goal is to meet each student where he or she is at and guide them towards understanding. This includes more than memorizing facts - it means being able to explain why things are the way they are and how things they learn are applicable to the real world.
