About me:
My name is Coach Pedersen, but most everyone calls me Coach P. I was born and raised in South Carolina. I am a product of Richland 2 graduating from Spring Valley High School. I attended Winthrop University where I received a BS in Physical Education and my MEd in Curriculum and Instruction. I also attended Arkansas State where I received my MS in Sport Administration and just recently completed a post graduate certificate in building level administration. This is my 10th year teaching and 6th year as a Westwood Redhawk. Prior to Westwood I taught 4 years at Clover Middle School in Clover, SC. When I am not at the Castle I enjoy traveling and exploring new places, developing, my photography skills, and spending time with friends and family.
This year:
I am teaching Personal Health and Wellness. I am also the Head Boys Soccer coach, an Assistant Athletic Director, Physical Education Department Chair, and the faculty sponsor of PRYSM. I am an avid supporter of my students and look forward to helping them develop the skills they need to be successful learners, leaders, and designers. Failure is a great teacher, and I think when you make mistakes you recover from them and you treat them as valuable learning experiences, then you've got something to share.
