Hello, my name is Mrs. Javonne Donaldson, School Counselor at Center for Achievement. I am beyond thrilled and honored to be working with students, parents, administration, teachers, and the surrounding communities. My main priority is helping students, families, and staff navigate the school year while exploring individual interests and strengths, and promoting academic and social/emotional success.
I live in Northeast Columbia with my husband of 12 years, our two children (Jaylen 16 and Caiden 10), and our beloved 3-year-old Pomeranian, Nipsy. In my free time, I love listening to music, reading, crafting, solving puzzles, and spending quality time with family and friends. I am passionate about working with children and take great joy in watching them grow.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Early Childhood from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. I then pursued a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from American InterContinental University and a Master’s degree in School Counseling from Capella University, completed online. I am a state-certified school counselor (K-12).
At the Center for Achievement, my primary goal is to empower our students by helping them set and achieve meaningful goals. I aim to equip them with the strategies and tools necessary for success while fostering a sense of connectedness, reminding them that they are never alone in their journey. It is crucial for our students to develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed, recognizing that their potential extends beyond the present moment to the limitless possibilities of tomorrow.
I believe that their strength will come from understanding how to reach their goals, opening doors to experiences and places they may have never imagined. I am committed to encouraging and guiding all students and parents to seek help when needed, make wise decisions, and cultivate respect for themselves and others.
As a school counselor, I am dedicated to supporting the social and emotional needs of our students. As an advocate, I will work to create a positive environment that enhances their ability to manage the social and emotional demands of life. I will promote a school atmosphere that fosters positive mindsets and behaviors, supporting social and emotional development through both direct services (such as classroom curriculum, group and individual counseling, and lunch sessions with students) and indirect services (such as collaborating with staff, families, and communities).
I look forward to meeting and working with everyone, and I always welcome feedback and suggestions as we strive to support our students' growth and success.
