Week of May 24th - 28th
This week we will be reading Cinderlad. In this twist on the classic tale “Cinderella,” a young knight triumphs over his older brothers by scaling a glass mountain to win the princess’s hand in marriage.
On Monday students will take a spelling pre-test. This week your child will spell words with the ough spelling pattern, words with silent letters, and words with the prefix re-, pre-, or mis-. Please click the following link to access the weekly spelling and vocabulary words.
Your child will also review adjectives and articles, comparatives, plural nouns, and capitalization.
In math, we will be working on chapter10 of Big Ideas. In chapter 10, your student will learn to subtract numbers within 1,000. Students will use various strategies such as place value, open number lines, and compensation to subtract three-digit numbers. They will also identify when they need to regroup to subtract numbers.
