Check out

• Students may check out one book for 14 days

• Books must be returned or renewed after 14 days

• Students may visit the media center with their class or with a media center pass from their classroom teacher

Late, Lost and Damaged Items

• Students and parents will be notified of late, lost or damaged items. 

• Students and parents will be notified and provided billing of items that are lost or must be replaced due to damage.

Fines

The media center does not charge fines for overdue materials. Students are sent email overdue notices weekly as a reminder to return the overdue items.

Selection of Library Media Materials

Media center materials are selected using the Richland Two Materials Selection guidelines. Among the considerations when purchasing books and other materials:

• Age appropriateness

• Curriculum support

• Reviews from reliable sources

• Suggestions from students, faculty, staff, and community members

• Accuracy and sensitivity of information included

• Cultural inclusivity and representation of our school community
