Juddy Mac created his Love is Dangerous LP as a tribute to the 45 years he has been in love with his beautiful wife Annette McGuire. Love is Dangerous is a collection of love songs he has written through the years. He will tell you “some are autobiographical and some are not”, leaving the listener to ponder which is which. The 45 year long love affair he and Annette have had is the reason he will tell you without missing a beat, “I know what love is and I am a very wealthy and fortunate man for having it.”

He wanted the whole world to have a chance at true love.  Even though he knew true love changes peoples lives forever, always, and without mercy, he could not adequately explain true love in music & lyrics to his satisfaction.  But he had a eureka moment. He said “I could write a song exposing the myths about what love is, throw in the one very true fact I can say about love, and shine a light through the myths so true love can be found.  I know what love is, therefore I also know what love is not.” The one true fact he does know about love - “Love is Dangerous!”

I have known Juddy Mac over two-thirds of my life.  I met him first when I was 16 through his wife’s dog grooming shop.  She cut and styled our family four legged friend.  Annette was an incredible award-winning dog groomer.  My mother told me Judd played bass and I eventually took a few bass lessons from him.  Of course the bass lessons were half study and half hanging out with the band and experiencing life lessons living the rock-n-roll lifestyle.

I went to my second Grateful Dead show with him and his wife in a little beat up red Isuzu.  We got kicked out of the afterparty at a friends house downtown for playing our guitars too loud.  We once went to the same Ocala Rainbow Family Gathering.  We go way back.

Juddy Mac has been busy all these years.  Like I said they ran Annette’s grooming shop together for years.  Judd left for a while and drove as a long-haul trucker.  Ultimately, Annette gave up the grooming shop and Judd and Annette drove trucks together professionally, taking turns at the wheel.  They lived together in the cubby sized “apartment” that is the back of a semi-cab.  Any time they had off they enjoyed living the Daytona condo lifestyle.

As long-haul truckers Judd, with the assistance of his wife, joined the Million Miler Club for over one million miles with no accidents.  It wasn’t easy.  The struggle shaped his life.  He wrote some of his best songs while living life on the road.  In fact, Love Is Dangerous is only the tip of the iceberg.  Listen here.  Judd has enough material for another album or two, a couple of EP’s, a few singles, and he is continually writing new material.  In fact, we are collaborating on an instrumental single called "Sailing On Winds of Light" which will be out shortly after the Juddy Mac album launches, or I may put it on my next album.  Stay tuned to this channel.

Juddy Mac has always been extremely talented.  I have recordings of him going back at least to 2007 and before.  He came to visit my house from driving a truck professionally and we recorded some cheesy demos of I think "Standing All Alone" on my Tascam 4-track cassette recorder.  I have a couple of audio CD’s dated 2007 which are so old my computer can’t even read them anymore.

I encouraged him and his original songs for years.  It was only natural that Juddy Mac would involve me as a producer and music publisher on his debut album which is decades in the making.  After nearly two years of production including fresh recordings as well  as tracks collected over 12 years, we now present Juddy Mac’s debut album, Love is Dangerous.   The album features rich acoustic guitars, clean electric leads, walking basslines, rich vocal harmonies, strong rhythmical drums, a folk-rock style somewhere between church and a psychedelic trip,  never boring, always evolving, the snake bites its tail over again and again. Love Is Dangerous will make its way into the American musical vocabulary.  Listen here.

The following section is a direct quote from the Bio page of Juddy Mac.  “In the summer of 1963, my grandmother would come and get me every Thursday morning. We would go to the "Old Folks Home" where my Grandmother, myself, and a piano lady, would put on a show.  And what a show it was!

The piano lady would play the piano, my Grandmother would preach a little gospel, and we would all sing just as loud as we could and all the folks that came into the cafeteria where we performed would sing along with us.

I will tell you something, for an 8 year old little boy it was awesome to be part of it!

Of course it was the piano playing and singing parts I really liked, because it got everyone all smiling and happy. This was also a very big deal for the residents. Many of them feeling left out, lonely, and forgotten. We made them feel wanted again and even as a small child I understood that. I was always so excited and happy to see my friends there. We went there almost every Thursday during my summer vacation that year.

Needless to say, I was hooked on music! Some may say the preaching may not have gotten through to me. That would be for another discussion at another time. But I loved the music and I knew then and there that what I wanted to be able to do more than anything else in this whole wide world...  was to make beautiful music.

Several years later my Uncle Freddy got me a Sears and Roebuck "Decca" brand guitar for Christmas. So at 12 years old I taught myself some chords to play, and some songs to sing and sing, and my addiction to music and obsession with the guitar had begun.

You couldn’t ask for a better friend than Juddy Mac.  I can’t recall the number of times he and Annette have invited me over, cooked me dinner, and made me feel at home.  He is a sociable type whose Daytona Beach cocktail parties are stuff of legend.   Juddy Mac is a consummate performer and a very talented lyricist and songwriter. I consider it a privilege to have collaborated with him so many times over the years.  I am honored he would even give me the time of day, musically speaking.

Juddy Mac is outgoing, talented, and creative.  He likes to frequent open mics in Daytona Beach.  He and Annette often celebrate Bike Week and the holidays with festive cheer in true Daytona Beach style, on the back of their bike.

Juddy Mac often entertains people with his creative endeavors.  He once handed out Moonpies and talked about running for President of the United States.

After being married for over 43 years his wife, Annette, is now in her 70’s, on oxygen, and travelling by motorized scooter.  Still, he is more devoted to her today than ever before.  In fact, he thinks she is the most beautiful woman in the world.  He claims he "knows what love is not" because he "knows what love is."  This is his first worldwide release so every album sale encourages him to put out more music.  Love Is Dangerous - buy directly from Juddy Mac.
