About Mrs. Smith

I am passionate about my amazing family, art, travel, photography. I love to take my kids outside, camping and biking.

My hometown is Rochester, MN. I grew up on a hobby farm south of town. I was involved in 4-H, softball and volleyball growing up. I attended Kansas City Art Institute in Kansas City, MO and obtained my Bachelors in Fine Art- Photography. I then moved to Riceville in 2008 where I started my photography business professionally. At the same time I went back to school for my Masters in Teaching through Kaplan University and graduated in 2010.

I have one amazing husband, Christopher and three beautiful children Charlotte (8), Oliver (6) and Alexandra (4).

I have been to 13 countries outside of the United States with plan to go to more.

Mexico, Italy, Scotland, Canada, Austria, England, Ireland, Czech Republic, Spain, France, Germany, Portugal, Greece

I have a whole list of future trips planned.

Currently I teach K-12th grade art, including classes such as Introduction to Art, Drawing and Design I and II, Digital Photography, Ceramics, and yearbook. I am also the National Honor Society Advisor as well as the advisor for the Riceville Community School International Travel Club.
