After forty years in finance, Linda K Allison, Rice MLS 2016, enjoys life as a writer, photographer, and explorer. Her essays and poetry have appeared or are forthcoming in MoonPark Review, Bright Flash Literary Review, The Bluebird Word, Dark Winter Lit, and others. Her photography has appeared or is forthcoming in Burningword Literary Journal, The Sunlight Press, and Persimmon Tree. Linda was awarded first place in the 2022 Olive Woolley Burt New Voices Contest.
Adam Ryan Barton is beginning a Doctor of Philosophy program in literature in the Fall of 2024 at the University of Dallas. He received a bachelor's degree in English from Dallas Baptist University and a master's degree in literature from Texas State University. His research interests include modern and contemporary literature and the relationship between religion, literature, and theory.

Stephanie Chretien is a native Texan with maternal roots that trace to Washington-On-the-Brazos hence the interest in history and social justice. She is a graduate of Spelman College/BA in Economics, and an MLS at Rice University. Her career was in the field of mainframe computer technology that afforded opportunities to travels to Bangalore, India; West Africa (Benin and Ghana) as well as the Caribbean and cities in the United States. She has a working title for a memoir project: Before I Forget.
Abby Cole (she/her) is a PhD student in the Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication program at the University of Texas at Dallas. Her work draws on feminist STS, digital culture studies, and documentary studies to explore the ways media and technology shape narratives, and social and cultural behaviors. Currently, her research focuses on emerging journalism practices with a specific interest in social justice and artificial intelligence.
As a retired geophysicist, Ted is actively pursuing a Master of Liberal Studies degree from Rice University. The humanities have opened new paths for him to explore as a Mid-westerner, a lover of the natural world, and an observer of art and people. He graduated with a B.S. in Geophysics from the University of Oklahoma in 1976, and M.S. in Geophysics from Stanford in 1979. Ted lives in Houston with his wife, Sheila.
Sarah Eschrich received her BA in Literature from Baylor University, and is now a PhD student at the University of Dallas. Her interests include the 19th century novel,
humor in the novel, ecocriticism and place studies.
Manzar Feiz is a doctoral student at The University of Texas at Dallas where she studies Comparative Literature and teaches Rhetoric. Her research interests include Cultural Studies, Modernism, Psychoanalysis, and Women Writers. Her previous publications and conference presentations have predominantly focused on American female writers and literary characters of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Dr. Nancy Glass has been published in Intima, in Pulse, in Medicine and Meaning, in Medical Literary Messenger, in Write Launch, in Persimmon Tree, and others. She won the 2022 Writer's League of Texas Manuscript Contest in Nonfiction. She practiced various pediatric specialties including hospice for forty years, retiring as Distinguished Emeritus Professor of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine in 2022. She received her MFA (Writing) from Vermont College of Fine Arts in 2023.
Christopher Gruber is a doctoral student in philosophy at the Gregorian University in Rome, where he is writing his dissertation on Martin Heidegger's Being and Time. He graduated in philosophy from Texas A&M University, having written his thesis on Martin Buber and Gabriel Marcel. He obtained a master's degree in humanities from the University of Chicago, writing his thesis on Emmanuel Levinas. He also completed a master's degree in theology from the University of Dallas.
Currently a second-year Ph.D. student at the University of Texas at Dallas, Rebecca Jinxiu Han specializes in Art, Technology, and Emerging Communication. Her research examines identity formation at the nexus of digital media and visual culture, with a focus on gender identity. Combining research and practice, she engages with graphic design, visualization, techno-culture, and interactive media, aiming to contribute to the discourse on technology's impact on self-perception and societal understanding.
I am doing my PhD in English Literature at the University of Texas at Dallas. As a teaching associate, I teach rhetoric at UTD. I am interested in comparative literature, feminism, psychoanalysis, and postcolonialism.
Arlandis Jones is a Professor of English/Interim Associate Department Chair of English at Houston Community College; Adjunct Professor at Alvin Community College and University of Houston - Clear Lake's TDCJ college programs. Arlandis has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, Master of Arts in English/Technical Communication, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. Shivika Mathur is a Ph.D. in Literature from The University of Texas at Dallas. Her dissertation, "Aesthetics and Politics of Women's Authorship: Examining American and British Literary Texts by Women (1855-1930)," examines literary texts by women writers to argue that their 'form'(al) aesthetics function as modes of socio-political critique and models of feminist authorship. Her research fields and teaching experience include mid-nineteenth to early twentieth-century American Literature, Victorian British Literature, and Feminist literary criticism.
Malcolm McGuire is a Senior Threat Assessment Investigator at Southern Methodist University. His responsibilities include investigating and assessing individuals who threaten or there is reason to believe have the intent to commit acts of violence against members of the SMU community in Dallas, Texas. He has conducted training nationally and internationally on conflict resolution, diversity, effective communication, and threat assessment. Mr. McGuire is a Master Peace Officer, Advanced Instructor, Mental Health Peace Officer, Workplace Violence Threat Specialist, and Certified Fraud Examiner. He is a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals where he currently serves as South Central Chapter Vice President. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a Master of Arts in Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management.
Amy Aliz Simpson is a graduate student in the MLA program at Texas Christian University, focusing on literature and creative writing coursework. Her commentary on Azar Nafisi's "Reading Lolita in Tehran" appeared in the Spring 2024 issue of the AGLSA journal Confluence. With a BA in English Literature from Presbyterian College in SC, and after a long career in PR and communications, she is passionate about storytelling and literature in relating human experiences.
Callie Summers holds an MLS in Human Rights, a BA in English, and a BBA in Marketing from Southern Methodist University. With over a decade of experience in big tech, non-profits, start-ups, and small businesses, she is an accomplished communicator, writer, and digital strategist. In 2023, Callie returned to academia, passionately advocating for social justice through impactful communication and research, focusing on disability rights for adult autistic women.
