Hotel and getting to campus

• Hilton Houston Plaza/Medical Center, 6633 Travis Street, Houston 77030.

• Reservations will be made by our administrative staff.

• All talks for the conference are in Keck Hall, which is a 20 minute walk from the hotel. 

Transportation from Bush airport (IAH)

• Taxi:  Outside baggage claim at Terminals A, B, C, and E there are taxi stations staffed by airport personal 24/7 to assist in getting a cab. At baggage claim, look for exist marked "Taxi" (Doors A-115, B-103,  C-105,  E-103B).  Driving from the airport usually take between 30 and 50 minutes depending on traffic. Fare to the hotel is approximately $65 plus tip. 

• Rideshare: Terminal A and C have designated "Ride App" pick-up areas outside baggage claim at Doors A-113/114 and C-105. If you arrive to terminal B, C, or E, you should take the Skyway to Terminal A or C before you exist security (you can also walk from Terminal E to Terminal C).  Public transit: Before you exit security, take the Skyway to Terminal C. The Metro 102 bus picks up outside door C-105 at Terminal C baggage claim.  Board a "Downtown" bound 102 bus at Terminal C (don't board the "Terminal C" bound bus).  Get off at Pierce St & Travis and walk one block to the Downtown Transit Center Red Line light rail station. Take the Red line southbound to Dryden/TMC. The hotel is then a 5 minute walk. The entire trip takes about 90 minutes with the 102 bus departing every 15 or 30 minutes depending on the time of day. The fare is $1.25. Fare can be purchased in cash from the bus driver (exact change and ask for a transfer) or via Metro's Q ticketing app.

Transportation from Hobby airport (HOU)

• Taxi: At baggage claim, look for exists marked "Taxi". Taxi stands are in the Curb Zone 2 and are staffed by airport personal. The estimated fare is $35 plus tip and the trip usual takes 25 - 35 minutes.

• Rideshare: Exit baggage claim through door nearest to carousel no. 4. Follow signs to Curb Zone 5 marked “Ride App”.  

• Public transit: Metro busses pick-up in Curb Zone 3 outside baggage claim. Take a "Fannin South" bound 73 bus. Get off at the Fannin South Transit Center stop and transfer to a northbound Red line light rail train. Disembark the Red line at Dryden/TMC station. The hotel is then a 5 minute walk. The entire trip is about 60 minutes with the 73 bus departing every 12 minutes. The fare is $1.25. Fare can be purchased in cash from the bus driver (exact change and ask for a transfer) or via Metro's Q ticketing app.

Where to eat

• The conference will provide lunch on Saturday and there will be a banquet Saturday evening on campus. The banquet is $25 per person. There will be coffee and snacks served before the conference on Saturday and Sunday.

• Rice Village is a 20 minute walk from the hotel and contains several options. 

• The Red line is steps away from the hotel and will take you to many options in Midtown and Downtown. Tickets can be purchased on the station platform or via Metro's Q ticketing app.

• The Montrose neighborhood hosts many great restaurants and is a short rideshare from the hotel.
