I studied here since lower school, and when making the decision to choose Biology, Chemistry and Maths for my A-levels, I felt like I should stay here to minimise the time I would use to make new friends and settle in the new environment and use it to study instead as I understood these A-levels come with a lot of work. It was a rational decision to stay here as I already knew the people and my way around, making it very feasible to focus on my studies.
What subjects are you studying at RR6? A-level Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics
What do you enjoy most about your studies? The amount of Independent revision that can be done during frees and support study sessions. And teachers are always available if anything goes wrong ensuring students' safety and comfort. One thing I love about my subjects are how balanced the practical work and theory are. We learn theory first and apply the knowledge into practical work, and the best part is working in a team with friends, making memories and helping each other with anything they find hard to understand. Because, learning is all about applying!
What do you plan to do in the future after RR6? I plan to study Medicine (if i get the offer, hopefully), Or take a Gap year to improve my research skills, by focusing on a topic I'm really interested in and Reapplying to Medical school as a stronger applicant.
I chose to study at RR6 because I really enjoyed my academic experience in lower school and wanted to continue that and develop it further in sixth form. I was drawn to the increased independence and responsibility as well as the opportunity to explore subjects I genuinely enjoy in greater depth.
What subjects are you studying at RR6? English Literature, History, Politics
What do you enjoy most about your studies? I enjoy the balance between independence and support. I value the opportunity to take responsibility of my own learning and make the most of the opportunities available to me while knowing that there are support and guidance when I need it. The balance helps students become more confident and resilient and prepares them for the next stages in their life.
What do you plan to do in the future after RR6? I am planning to go to university and study English literature. After this, I would love to do something in either journalism or law to make good use of my love for the humanities.
I chose RR6 because it offers the exact courses I wanted to pursue my career goals. I also heard wonderful things about the supportive environment, the great facilities, and how much the sixth form helps students with their next steps after college. It felt like the perfect place to grow and achieve what I want to.
What subjects are you studying at RR6? Law, Production Arts, and Health & Social Care.
What do you enjoy most about your studies? I really enjoy how practical my courses are — especially Production Arts, where I get hands-on experience organising events and working as a team. I also love learning about how the law works in real life. RR6 feels like a really supportive community; the teachers are encouraging, and there are so many great opportunities to build skills and confidence.
What do you plan to do in the future after RR6? In the future, I hope to work in the legal sector — either as a solicitor through an apprenticeship or by studying Law at university. I'm also really interested in family law and supporting people.
I chose to stay at RR6 because I had already attended Ricards Lodge from Year 7 to Year 11, so I was familiar with the school, the teachers and the environment. I felt more comfortable continuing my education at the same place rather than starting somewhere new and having to adjust to a different setting. Staying at Ricards will allow me to focus on my A levels while receiving help and support from my teachers, who can guide me through my studies.
What subjects are you studying at RR6? BTEC Sport , Sociology , Philosophy
What do you enjoy most about your studies? At RR6, what I enjoy the most was making new friends and meeting new people. I enjoy building relationships with them and receiving their support throughout the school year. In terms of my studies, I enjoy learning new subjects, such as Sociology and Philosophy, which I had not studied at GCSE. Studying these subjects has introduced me to new ideas and different perspectives while also challenging me to think more critically
What do you plan to do in the future after RR6? After completing my studies at RR6, I plan to attend university to study for a degree in Physiotherapy. In the future, I would like to explore different areas of physiotherapy, particularly working with children as a paediatric physiotherapist. This interests me because I would be able to help children recover from injuries and support their early development. I am also interested in working in professional sport, ideally as a physiotherapist for an elite sports team, such as a Premier League football club. Another option I would consider is working in a private healthcare clinic where I would gain valuable experience treating a wide range of patients
I chose RR6 as it was a continuation of my high school, so I knew the layout of the building and already had a good relationship with my teachers. RR6 had the subjects I wanted to do, and they allowed me to do the combination of them which most other Sixth forms in the area don't have, so that was the deciding factor.
What subjects are you studying at RR6? Media, Music Technology and Geography
What do you enjoy most about your studies? I really love the teachers, as it's very clear they love the subjects and the content they teach and they will always assist you if you need help. The facilities have all the equipment you might need for your projects/work and you can borrow things/use computers in your own time too.
What do you plan to do in the future after RR6? In the future, I would like to do an apprenticeship or internship in post-production for film as I really love and want to do that. However, if i'm not able to have that opportunity, I would study it at university instead so I can network and go into it afterwards.
I chose to study at RR6 because of the close-knit school community. I enjoy how my subjects are taught in small class sizes as it enables you to get to know your peers, and engage in deeper class discussions. This is especially helpful for English which requires you to approach texts in a critical, evaluative way. For me, the sense of community at RR6 has not only been academically enriching, but has allowed me to make close friendships.
What subjects are you studying at RR6? English Literature, History and Sociology
What do you enjoy most about your studies? The thing I enjoy most about my own studies is the interdisciplinary nature of English, History, and Sociology. For example, learning about Lenin, and Stalin in History has informed my discussion of Big Brother ('1984') in A Level English. The complimentary nature of my subjects has made me a much more well-rounded, conscientious student. However, the thing I enjoy most about RR6 as a whole is the amount of support provided. This includes during the UCAS process, thinking about careers, and even in terms of end-of-year exams.
What do you plan to do in the future after RR6? I have applied to study a degree in Sociology, and hope to become a social researcher in the future.
The main reason why I decided to stay at RR6 was majorly influenced by the fact that I was a student at Ricards Lodge. However, outside of this and after visiting other Sixth forms I noticed how RR6 felt so friendly in regards to the teachers and pupils & I wanted to attend a Sixth Form that truly cared for its students. Additionally, there are so many opportunities offered to students at RR6 to allow you to grow as a person in all aspects which is beneficial for when we move on to our next steps such as University or an apprenticeship etc.

What do you plan to do in the future after RR6? I want to go to University and study Physiotherapy. Through this I hope to become a qualified physiotherapist and either work within the NHS or private.
I chose to study at RR6 because I really enjoyed going to Ricards for high school. I also wanted the opportunity to become an ambassador and contributing to sixth form life.

I enjoy being able to focus on subjects I’m genuinely interested in while having opportunities to explore different career paths and gain a deeper understanding of where my studies could take me in the future. I also appreciate the freedom we’re given to manage our own time and travel between both sites, as this helps us become more independent and responsible.

I see RR6 as an opportunity to develop my interests, gain a clearer understanding of the industry and work towards a career I’m genuinely passionate about.
