Description
This project consists of the creation of a machine whose function is that by means of a plc, program and control the different processes of washing, filling, sealing and linear labeling of a bottle, through the use of pistons, hoses and bands for movement. Approximately 90% of companies dedicated to the distribution and sale of beverages make use of a bottling machine.
Objectives
General:
Demonstrate the process carried out by a bottling machine, its processes and the benefits that this type of machine brings to the industry.
Specifics:
Know the functioning of a bottling machine by analyzing each of its process.
Analyze the benefits that a bottling machine provides to the industry and society.
Through the use of a PLC, control different process y frequencies of the machine.
Summary
The use of plastic bottles to store various types of liquids (excluding food) is very frequent, as water that is vital for health, one of the process involved is bottling, the current demand of water bottles can exceed by a lot what a group of workers can perform. This project was thought to help the workers of a factory to perform the process of bottling a liquid (product), the process of bottling manually can be very tedious and can take a long time to perform. That is why we proposed to make a machine that is able to reduce the workload for this process. For the machine we make use of pneumatics, which is the use of pressurized air to perform a job, this air is provided by an air compressor and the air travels through hoses distributed in the machine. To control the processes of the machine we use a PLC or programmable logic controller, which is an electronic device used to automatically control different processes or machines. is a computer for industrial use which processes data from the machine, such as buttons, sensors, timers to then control actuators such as valves, sensors, motors, among others.
The machine consists of 4 stages: washing, filling, capping and labeling.
In the washing stage, the empty bottles are washed to ensure the hygiene of what is being bottled.
In the filling stage, the bottles are placed under nozzles through which the water or liquid with which they will be filled will pass.
In the capping stage, the bottles arrive and a cap is placed on them so that a piston then lowers a small rotating auger to seal the bottle.
In the labeling stage, the bottles will pass through a band where the labels are placed, so that when they are rubbed, the label will stick to the bottle.
With this project we conclude that it can be beneficial for the companies the use of machines for the automated processes in the industry, since they can offer a better precision than that of a person and can shorten the production times of a product.
